The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

May 6 
 Parking lot pilfer

11:12 p.m. — 600 block of 67th Street Circle E. Burglary. A dark-colored van drove into the parking lot of a restaurant. The van drove next to another vehicle. A white male exited from the passenger side of the van. The unknown man broke the passenger window of the other vehicle with an unknown item. The man stole a purse from the vehicle. He then backed out of the parking lot, avoiding security cameras, and exited. The victim is a waitress at the restaurant.

May 8
 Money grab

3:58 p.m. — 7300 block of Tara Preserve Lane. Theft. The general manager of a golf club reported a missing $500 deposit. The money was placed into a deposit bag and left on a counter in the back office for more than three hours. Only staff members had access to the bag.

Inside job
6:10 p.m. — 11100 block of Lost Creek Terrace. Theft. A man is staying at his friend’s apartment and watching it while the friend is out of town. The man returned from work and found the friend’s Sony PS3 was missing. He also discovered some of the friend’s clothing was missing. No other items, including a flat-screen TV, laptop computers or tablets, are missing from the apartment. No one was seen entering the apartment, but a hidden key is missing from its spot. 

May 9
 Socked away

8:40 p.m. — 2900 block of 53rd Avenue E. Theft. A woman reported someone stole her phone at a department store. The woman said she had been trying on some socks when she set her phone down. She left the sock area without taking her phone, and returned to discover the phone was gone. The woman did not see anyone take her phone.

May 10
 Not so neighborly

8:50 p.m. — 6500 block of 4th Avenue NE. Information Only. A woman reported a neighbor drove by her home and said racial slurs to her. There is ongoing tension between the neighbors.

May 11
 That's cold

10 p.m. — 8300 block of 260th Street E. Suspicious Incidents. A house has been going through foreclosure for a few years. A neighbor walks around the home occasionally to make sure there is no damage and that no one is sleeping in the home. One night, he noticed the pipes for the outside air conditioner had been cut. The air conditioning unit appears to be 10 years old.
