Greenfield Plantation resident Cameron Schindler, with his first-grade class at Rowlett Elementary School, had a special surprise visitor to his classroom — his grandfather, Robert Jay.

Jay, the award-winning author of The Montooth book series, was the surprise guest reader for Mellissa Martinez’s class. He read part of the book to the children and had them slither on the floor like snakes to act out the story.
