Deputies bust family's pot operation

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sarasota resident Peter Glunk and his two sons, Austin and Jacob, after uncovering the family marijuana operation with help from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

All three men had sold hundreds of dollars’ worth of marijuana to undercover detectives multiple times in September, October and November.

Deputies searched a home on Flatbush Avenue in Sarasota, and found more than four pounds of marijuana hidden inside a safe and various locations in the house. Austin Glunk, 33, and Jacob Glunk, 27, were arrested and charged for possessing and selling marijuana.

Manatee deputies searched a warehouse on Whitfield Avenue, which housed the Glunk’s marijuana growth operation. More than 225 plants were found inside.
