Obituary: Albert Wohlers

Albert Wohlers, 97, of Longboat Key and formerly of Park Ridge, Ill., died Nov. 11.

Born Aug. 17, 1917, Mr. Wohlers was owner and founder of Albert H. Wohlers and Co., an insurance brokerage and consulting company. He served as lieutenant colonel in the Army Air Force during World War II.

Mr. Wohlers graduated in 1939 from the University of Illinois and was a loyal benefactor to his university, Avenues to Independence, the Mayo Clinic and the Western Golf Association.

Mr. Wohlers is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Wohlers, and daughter, Susan Pearson. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Malik, and four grandchildren.
