Nancy Erickson, 81, of Longboat Key, died Nov. 14
Born May 33, 1933, in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Mrs. Erickson earned her degree in English education from Michigan State University, where she met her husband, Richard.
Mrs. Erickson enjoyed reading, cooking, hosting and watching the Detroit Tigers. She traveled extensively to destinations throughout the world, including England, Scotland, Canada and Alaska. She also attended numerous Lifetouch and Lifetouch alumni functions around the country.
Mr. and Mrs. Erickson established the Erickson Center for the Arts, an epicenter for the artistic, educational and cultural pursuits of community members. They also donated an art center building and land in Mrs. Erickson’s childhood hometown of Curtis, Mich.
Mrs. Erickson is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard; children Marcy and Stuart; brother, Fred Gowan; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Nov. 18, at Christ Presbyterian Church, in Edina, Minn.
