Sarasota County is adding another director to its growing list of hires this week.

The county offered the position of director of the Office of Financial Management to Kimberli Radtke.

Radtke is an in-house hire who has spent the last eight years as the county operating budget manager. She was responsible for overseeing the county’s $600 million budget and providing advanced analyses of county funds.

"We are excited to have someone of Kimberli's experience and expertise in this role," said County Administrator Tom Harmer. "She has a deep understanding of the county's finances and budget process and will be able to hit the ground running as director as we prepare our next budget."

Previously, Radtke was a principal budget management analyst for the county. She also worked for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office as a special projects coordinator in research and development.

Radtke will serve under the assistant county administrator and chief financial management officer, Steve Botelho.

"We're excited to have her in that role. Her knowledge will definitely help," Botelho said. "She knows the details (of the budget). It will be a seemless transition... she can hit the ground running."

Botelho said Radtke topped about 70 other candidates for the nationally-advertised position.

The county also announced new hires Patrick Lui as the bicycle and pedestrian coordinator and Rocky Burke as Sarasota County Area Transit director this week.
