Ronald Curry, 81, of Longboat Key, died Nov. 14.
Born in 1933, in Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Curry worked for the New York Telephone Co. as an engineer for 21 years until moving in 1977 to Gainesville to work for Bell South. He retired in 1990 and moved to Longboat Key with his wife, Elizabeth, in 2000.
Mr. Curry was an avid sports fan and a season ticket holder for the New York Giants and the Florida Gators for a combined 52 years.
Mr. Curry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth; daughter, Christine; son, Ronald Jr.; brother, John; and two grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held Nov. 21, at St Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church. A military honors service followed at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
