UNWANTED BAGGAGE
10:08 a.m. — 4700 block of North Tamiami Trail. Patrol Request. A representative of a church informed officers that a large number of personal items had been left at the northeast end of the church property. The man asked officers to frequently check the area in an attempt to locate the owners of the items, which included kitchen items, baby products and multiple suitcases filled with clothes. The man said he would leave a note on the property asking for the items to be removed. If they were not removed by the next night, he said he would throw the items out or ask the SPD to take the property.

LICENSE TO CHILL
5:30 p.m. — 0 block of Horton Circle. Family Fight. A man reported someone took the license plate from his car. The man told officers he was going through a difficult divorce with his wife, who moved out last week, and that his wife and her sister returned to his house to remove the plate. The man said that his wife did it to be spiteful, so he would not be able to drive. The man’s wife is listed on the vehicle’s registration. The man requested a case number so he could get a replacement or temporary tag and asked about how to trespass his wife and her sister from the property.

HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS
9:27 a.m. — 3100 block of Fruitville Road. Suspicion General/Unknown. An officer responded to a report of a bagged green leafy substance, which the complainant believed to be marijuana, in a garbage can outside of a bank. The officer retrieved the bag and discovered that it did not contain marijuana. The complainant then placed the bag back into the garbage.

MISSED DELIVERY
2:08 p.m. — 900 block of North Beneva Road. Civil Problem. A former delivery driver at a restaurant contacted police and stated his previous employer still owed him three weeks of pay. The store manager denied those claims, and although she could not locate any records regarding his employment at the time, she said she was sure he was not owed anything. After being informed that the matter could be settled in small claims court, the man said he would be hiring an attorney.

4:45 p.m. — 4700 block of Eastchester Drive. Suspicion Panhandling. An officer responded to a report of a woman selling magazine subscriptions without any identification. The officer located the woman, who said she was “spreading the word,” not selling subscriptions. The officer noticed paperwork in the woman’s back pocket and, after asking what the papers pertained to, discovered they were subscription forms. The woman said someone was coming to pick her up so she could leave the area, but nobody answered when the officer called the number she provided. The officer documented the paperwork in question.
