It’s that time of year again — time to unpack the winter coats, layer your scarves and figure out what to wear to all the holiday dinner parties. This fall, make sure you load up your closet with easy-to-wear pieces you're going to love such as lady-like skirts, sumptuous coats, and comfortable flats. We've gathered all of fall's best fashion trends straight from the runway to show you how you can style them for work, a date night and everything in between.

Matching sets may have been a big no-no in the past, but we're tossing all the rules out the window. Find some big, bold patterns, like plaid or floral and wear the corresponding tops and bottoms! It's a daring look that certainly makes a statement, and who knows — it might even shave a few minutes off your morning routine.

Much like plaid, leopard has been spotted all over the runway this season. Instead of your grandmother’s oversized old fur coats, try something a little more modern. Pairing a leopard-print high-waist A-line skirt with a black turtleneck is a classic style with a feminine flair. If you're heading out on a chilly evening, try spicing up your black cigarette pants and black pumps with a thigh-length leopard-print coat similar to the Dsquared pairing at N.Y. Fashion week.

If you're not a pump-wearing gal like myself, sometimes finding the perfect black flats can be a daunting task. Try going for a throwback feel, like with these menswear-inspired Oxfords. These can be worn with just about everything, from fitted jeans and classic v-necks to vintage-inspired scoop-neck dresses.

When you want to stay classic, but black and white feels overdone, try the hue that's a happy medium of both. Rocking solid gray from head to toe was big on the runway, but for more of an everyday look, mix it up with a pop of yellow, splash of violet or dab of cobalt blue.

Remember, these fall favorites are classics that are meant to be comfy and simple, but also bold. Don't be afraid to mix it up with statement pieces and modern lines.
