Residents of Summerfield Glades have made it a Halloween tradition to gather at the driveway of Maggie White and pass out candy.

But this year, White and her neighbors have something spook-tacular in mind.

They also will be accepting nonperishable food items for The Food Bank of Manatee.

“We’re asking if people, or kids, can put something in their bag and to put it into the bin for the food bank. Give a treat, get a treat.”

White and her neighbors will be outside from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31, at 12010 Summer Meadow Drive, Lakewood Ranch.
