Next week, contractors will begin to prepare for a beach project that will bring two groins to the north end.

Lake Mary-based Collage Co. will begin mobilizing the site next week, with equipment scheduled to arrive at the end of the week.

Contractors will use the Broadway public beach access to unload heavy equipment and move it to a section of the beach access that is not used by the public. After equipment is assembled, it will be moved on the beach to the North Shore public beach access.

The North Shore Road beach access will be closed for the duration of the project after equipment arrives late next week. Parking will not be allowed along North Shore Road. The road itself will not be closed, but only local traffic for Longbeach Condominium and 360 North condominium will be allowed.

Partial lane closures may occur during the delivery of the groin’s structural elements. The town will put up signs directing beachgoers to the Broadway public beach access.

The estimated completion date of the project is June 1, 2015, although weather can affect construction progress.
