VIDEO: SCAT wins "best of the best" for music video

 Sarasota County Area Transit won first place out of 67 counties in the electronic media and audio visual category for its recently-released music video, “We’ll Take You There.”

The video features different popular locations in the county, such as Siesta Key Beach and the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. The SCAT jingle was created and performed by NeXXlevel, a local band; it was based on the 1996 song
“I’ll Take You There” by The Staple Singers.

“We wanted to point out all kinds of places in Sarasota you can visit,” said Kendra Keiderling, SCAT’s marketing director.

Keiderling, who was hired in June, and the Sarasota County communications department developed the video, using other county employees as the “extras” seen in the shots.

“I’m very happy—I couldn’t be more pleased,” Keiderling said. “I never thought I’d produce a music video!”

SCAT also placed third in signage and graphics for the island wraps and “SCAT to” decals on buses; third in print collateral for positive news coverage on re-branding SCAT; and third in online communication and social media for the QR code on bus stop signs and the mobile app, which provides real-time information on buses and routes.
