Aug. 21
Collision course

2:25 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Road. Property Damage. A postal worker reported a collision with another vehicle in the post office parking lot. He made a wide turn into a neighboring parking spot, causing damage to the back of a woman’s car.

This isn’t a meat market
7:14 p.m. — 500 block of Rigger Lane. Soliciting. Police approached two door-to-door meat salesmen after receiving a complaint the men were soliciting services at area residences. After telling police they were just kicked out of a neighboring town for the same thing, they received a written warning about peddling.

Aug. 22
Back-up plan

8:53 a.m. — 700 block of Jungle Queen Way. Property Damage. A woman became angry after construction trucks backed into her yard. She said the same thing happened on several other occasions. The officer saw the tracks in the yard and told the workers to park elsewhere.

Where’s the fire?
4:28 p.m. — 3100 block of Harbourside Drive. Fire. An officer responded to a construction site after a Dumpster fire prompted a call to police. After locating the fire, the officer called firefighter/paramedics, who extinguished the blaze.

Aug. 23
Wheel deal

9:55 a.m. — 300 North Shore Road. Burglary. Someone stole a black-and-silver women’s bicycle with a white plastic basket attached to the handlebars from a screened-in porch at the caller’s home. After the officer arrived on the scene, he found the woman had accidently left the keys in the door of an adjoining room. A nearby security camera was not recording during the incident, and police could not obtain fingerprints.

Cut to the chase
8:11 p.m. — 3100 block of GMD. Burglary. Thieves cut through the fabric of a locked rag top convertible parked at a beach access point to steal a man’s wallet, phone and shorts. When the officer arrived, he advised the man to contact his bank to cancel his cards. Two hours later, the man called police again saying the card had been used in St. Petersburg. Police referred the case to law enforcement in that area.

Aug. 25
Enlightening encounter

9:15 p.m. —100 block of GMD. Code Enforcement. Police found two women with photography equipment on the beach and told them about the town ordinance that prohibits bright lights on the beach during turtle nesting season.
