Love to be scared or, better yet, be the scarer?

Lakewood Ranch Community Activities is looking for 12 adult volunteers to work with experienced haunter Joe Pfeiffer in preparation for staging the annual haunted house at its annual Boo Fest event Oct. 24.

Pfeiffer helped create the Sarasota Sailor Circus’ haunted house and will work with volunteers to develop scenes, characters, sound, lighting and drama.

CAC also seeks submissions of event photos for its promotional materials. Images should capture emotion and convey what the organization is about: enriching Lakewood Ranch by fostering a sense of community.
The fall contest will include photos from Splash Bash, Health and Wellness Day, Club Day, Festa Italiana, Boo Fest, Holiday Dinner Dance and Holidays Around the Ranch.

Photos can be submitted now through Dec. 15. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three photographs.
