+ Bulldog squads notch wins
The East Manatee Bulldog Pop Warner football teams all posted victories Sept. 6.

Tavion Derisma scored two touchdowns and kicked a field goal to lead the Mitey Mite team to a 28-7 victory over the East Tampa Bandits.

Keven Everhart and Kevion Wilson each added a touchdown. Isaac Ashley and Luke Petitta led the way defensively for the Bulldogs.

The Junior PeeWee team defeated the Bandits 6-0 in overtime. Ryan Franks connected with Deonte McFarland on fourth down and 13 for the game-winning score.

In PeeWee action, the Bulldogs defeated the Inverness Storm 19-0. Trailing 12-0, East Manatee scored 19 unanswered points on a pair of touchdowns by Markel McWhite and a touchdown by Robby Goecker. Carson Goda and Michael Gagnon each had an interception in the final minutes to preserve the victory over the Bulldogs.

The Junior Midget squad edged past the Bandits 19-12.

The Unlimited squad improved to 2-0 with a 12-0 victory over the Bandits. Jake Hepler connected with Cameron White for a 60-yard touchdown to give the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead at halftime.

+ ODA tops Braden River in golf tournament
The Out-of-Door Academy girls golf team swung past Braden River 186-231 Sept. 3, at the River Club Golf Course.

Wendy Tan shot 39 to lead the way for the Lady Thunder. Lexi Murphy shot 45, followed by M’Balia Bangoura (47) and Christy Wyatt (55).

Caitlin Roberts powered Braden River with a 55. Carly Toscano shot 57, followed by Mariah Courtney (58) and Brittney Walters (61).

+ Registration underway for TOPSoccer
Online registration is now underway for the Braden River Soccer Club’s upcoming TOPSoccer season.

TOPSoccer is a free, community-based youth sports opportunity for athletes with disabilities. It’s designed to give boys and girls ages 4 and up who have mental or physical disabilities the opportunity to play soccer.

The fall season begins Sept. 21 and will run through Nov. 16. Games will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sundays, at the Braden River Soccer Club fields located behind Lakewood Ranch High.
