+ ‘Re: Snowstorms or Snowflakes?’
Dear Editor:
Excellent editorial illustrating the age-old struggle between collectivism and individualism — the latter being our founding fathers’ lynch pin, foundation for the Declaration of Independence and Constitution/Bill of Rights. It’s just as crucial today as 238 years ago. As we look at ALL the gut wrenching and complex issues of today through the filter of the out-of-focus fog of collectivism versus the clarity of individual freedom of choice, we make better decisions for the good of the whole.

+ Town offers touching 9/11 tribute
Dear Editor:
Kudos to the town of Longboat Key for continuing to line Gulf of Mexico Drive with American flags on 9/11.
Are other people as disturbed as I am that many classroom teachers, especially American history teachers, make no mention of 9/11 on 9/11? I find it sad that such a tragic event in American history is often ignored in the schools.
