WASTE MANAGEMENT
7 a.m. — 2600 block of Arlington Street. Criminal Mischief. A woman reported that, on several occasions during the prior week, she found what she believed to be human feces on her front porch. She believed a neighbor was leaving it as retribution for past disputes. The woman had not recently observed the neighbor on her property, but was certain he was responsible.
HAUNTING IMAGES
8:57 a.m. — 3800 block of South Tamiami Trail. Suspicion General/Unknown. The manager at a convenience store reported her concern regarding some photographs that were sent to the store via email to be developed. The photographs were of crime scenes, bloody weapons, autopsies and dolls with eyes cut out. The pictures mostly appeared to be extremely old and taken from television, news clips and the Internet. When the officer was on scene calming the manager down, the woman who sent the photographs arrived at the store to pick up the pictures. She explained that she is a photography student at Ringling College of Art and Design, and that the photos were to be used for a Halloween party she was hosting at her apartment. The woman apologized for scaring the staff.

CLEARING THE AIR
2:44 a.m. — 1900 block of Morrill Street. Suspicion General/Unknown. A woman suspected people were trying to break into her apartment. Officers walked throughout the area and informed the woman that the building was clear. While the officers were there, the woman’s roommate asked if the police could make the woman’s guest leave their apartment. Officers said they were not able to tell her who she can and cannot have in her apartment.

MALL WALKER
2:42 a.m. — 3500 block of South Tamiami Trail. Suspicion Person. A security officer at a mall reported a man had been standing in the parking lot for the past hour. The man told an officer he had been looking for his cell phone during that time. The security officer requested that the man leave the property, and the man left without incident.
