Spring fashion shows have ushered in some of my new favorite looks. Whether it's beautifully embellished ponies or super sleek styles, there's definitely a common denominator this season: length. So say goodbye to your lobs and pixies, because these hippie locks are sexier than ever.

Those carefree boho waves are certainly here to stay and are a staple on the red carpet for such designers as Valentino and Pucci. Whether you're rocking these gypsy locks with bangs or fringe free, all you really need in your arsenal to achieve this look is a wand or clipless curling iron, thermal protection spray and a finishing spray.

First, start by separating your hair into six to eight sections. Before you start curling, be sure to lightly spritz each section with your thermal protection spray. Now place your wand about an inch away from your roots, with the tip of the wand facing down and begin wrapping your hair around the barrel in the direction away from your face. When you're finished curling, use your fingers to comb through and loosen the waves and finish with my favorite new goody from Bumble and Bumble, called Surf Infusion. It’s an oil-and-salt-infused spray that will give you beautiful sea-tossed waves with soft, brilliant sheen.

Giles and Stella McCartney decided to revise the classic ponytail with everything from a sleek, almost wet looking high ponytail to an incredibly textured double pony, which I am definitely a fan of.

To get the double pony look, start with your already textured, messy hair (you can even get a little crazy and utilize your old school crimper to add a little extra texture). This look is best worn with a middle part, so start by taking a section right at the crown of your head, about the size of your palm, backcomb or tease that just slightly and secure it with a black or clear hair tie. Spray that with a bit of hairspray and take the rest of your hair and gather that into an ultra-low ponytail. Add a bit of that Surf Infusion for a little more texture and embellish with a black satin ribbon or sleek, modern pin.
