Information: A woman saw several calves in cages on the side of the road and called police because she suspected animal abuse. A man told police the calves belong to a dairy company and will become dairy cows. Police relayed the information to the woman, who said she still does not think it’s right how the animals are being treated.

8:04 p.m. — 30000 block of Clay Gully Road.
Battery: A man got into an argument with his roommate about his drinking. One of the men said his roommate slapped him in the face. The roommate said he pushed the man out of fear he would be hit. There were no injuries, and the man who got hit did not want to press charges.

11:35 a.m. — 6200 block of 161st Avenue East.
Animal Bite: When a woman’s son opened the door to retrieve a package, the family’s dog ran out the door and bit the postal worker on his calf and hand, causing minor injuries. The woman ran outside to retrieve the dog. The postal worker was transported to a hospital. Animal Control initiated an investigation.

10:19 a.m. — 8400 block of Cooper Creek Boulevard.
Trespass Warning: A frequent customer at a fabric store became upset about the fabric cut on an order she placed and exclaimed loudly that she is a mentally disabled veteran. The dispute escalated, and management asked the woman to leave the store. The woman told police that the manager was rude, cursed at her and got in her face when he demanded she leave the store. She asked to file a criminal complaint against the manager. Police told her there was no criminal conduct and that management can trespass anyone who is disrupting business.

5:11 p.m. — 8100 block of Cooper Creek Boulevard.
Counterfeit Bills: Police responded to a restaurant about two $20 counterfeit bills that were provided as payment. The two unknown individuals who provided the bills purchased food and left the restaurant. They were later seen at a nearby gas station, where an employee obtained a license plate number.

11:29 a.m. — 8300 block of Lockwood Ridge Road.
Petit Theft: A man put $39.88 worth of items from the automotive and toy departments of a store in his pockets and left without paying. A store loss prevention employee stopped him.

11:55 a.m. — 8300 block of Market Street.
Petit Theft: A woman reported that someone stole her wallet from her handbag while she was grocery shopping. She received a phone call from her bank about a suspicious charge on one of her credit cards.

7:43 p.m. — 41000 block of Parks Road.
Burglary: A woman reported that someone broke into her rear bedroom and stole approximately $473 worth of property. Police processed the area for fingerprints.

11:38 p.m. — 7700 block of Hermitage Circle.
Battery: A woman allegedly punched her estranged husband in the shoulder and scratched his right foot after getting into an argument because the husband refused to sleep on the couch. The couple has been married for a year and a half but is going through a divorce. The woman was arrested for domestic battery.

9:57 a.m. — 9600 block of S.R. 70 East.
Battery: A woman said another woman from her neighborhood pulled her hair and punched her face after they got into an argument while picking up food at a church.

1:02 p.m. — 4200 block of Dover Drive East.
Fraudulent Use of ID: A couple filed their taxes with an accounting firm, but their tax return was rejected because someone else had already filed a tax return in their names.

Petit Theft: An apartment leasing agent reported that a man on a bicycle took a promotional sign and left the area.

8:20 a.m. — 7600 block of 37th Street Circle East.
Domestic Disturbance: A woman drove to Miami with the two children she has with her boyfriend because she and her boyfriend were not getting along. The boyfriend called her and demanded she returned home. When she returned, the boyfriend let the two children into the home but locked the woman out. After the woman called police, both parties agreed it would be best if she and the children went to Miami to be with her family until their can work out their relationship troubles.

9:12 p.m. — 5000 block of 33rd Street East.
Domestic Disturbance: A man accidentally scratched his mother’s hand while trying to grab her pills during an argument.
