Weekend Best Bets: Siesta Fiesta and Celebration of Pets Fest

Weekend events include activities for art lovers and pets

Start off your weekend with your favorite four-legged friends at the 5th annual Celebration of Pets Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds. Spend your afternoon taking in canine Frisbee, pet circus acts and pet agility demonstrations.

Siesta Key Village streets will be lined with artists and their works for the 37th annual Siesta Fiesta craft festival. More than 250 artisans will have their work on display ranging from ranging from sculptures, paintings, jewelry, photography and ceramics.

Portions of Ocean Boulevard will be blocked off to traffic and attendees are encouraged to park at Westfield Southgate Mall. Sarasota County Public Transportation will have shuttles running to transport attendees to the festival.
