Criminal Mischief: A man drove a vehicle onto a property, damaging a sprinkler head and approximately 300 feet of rotted grass and started loading up items from a home. The man who lives next door tried to reason to him, but the driver replied, “It is only grass, old man.”

2:16 p.m. — 400 block of Kay Road
Marijuana: Police stopped a man who was driving 44 mph in a 30 mph zone. Police detected the smell of marijuana, and the man handed him a half-burned joint and told police he uses marijuana for back pain. Police seized the joint and placed it in evidence.

4:53 p.m. — 8000 block of Stone Harbour Loop
Lost Property: A man’s wallet went missing while he was playing golf. He had placed the wallet, along with his cellphone and spare change, in his golf bag earlier, and the golf bag was in his view the entire time. His cellphone and spare change were still in the bag.

12:25 p.m. — 12300 block of Hollybush Terrace
Domestic Disturbance: A father and daughter got into an argument about the welfare of the wife/mother, who is bedridden. The daughter entered her mother’s room and locked the door so her father could not get inside. The father cussed at her, and the daughter took offence. There was no physical altercation.

8:41 a.m. — 8000 block of Shade Avenue
Found Property: Police found a machete sticking out of the ground while clearing a homeless camp nearby.

10:43 a.m. — 5300 block of 30th Street East
Criminal Mischief: A woman reported that someone damaged her vehicle by attempting to rip out the driver’s side molding from her vehicle while it was parked in the lot of a wholesale chain. She said her vehicle has been damaged on three separate occasions in the lot and believes that whoever is responsible for surveillance video is deleting it.
April 1
7:30 p.m. — 6600 block of River Club Boulevard
Battery: A man reported that an acquaintance was vacuuming the floor at his workplace. The man said something “smart” to him about the job he was doing, and the acquaintance began to hit the man with closed fists, and the man pushed him away. The man said he did not want to get his acquaintance in trouble but was worried he would report him for pushing him.
April 3
10:38 a.m. — 2800 block of University Parkway
Battery: Two homeless men were standing at a gas station entrance when an intoxicated man arrived and was soon joined by his cohorts. A physical fight broke out. Police believe the argument was over turf.
April 4
11:50 a.m. — 3500 block of 46th Street East
Domestic Disturbance: A man used to live with his sister but moved out a month earlier. He stopped by the residence to pick up clothing and papers. The sister said they agreed she would place the items outside the home for him to pick up April 1. The man denied they had the agreement.

8:21 p.m. — 4900 block of 32nd Street East
Criminal Mischief: A woman discovered her alarm had gone off when she wasn’t home and found her pool lanai screen panel ripped and a gallon of pool chlorine covering the hole.
April 6
1:59 p.m. — 7100 block of Strand Circle
Baker Act: Police took a woman into custody under the Baker Act. While speaking with police, she said her father-in-law was going to kill her and that Obama is a robot that would kill her if he heard her talking about him. Police reviewed her Facebook message and discovered messages indicating that she could harm herself.
