12:05 p.m. — 9500 block of Portside Terrace
Suspicious Person: An individual purchased earrings from an Ebay seller in India, but when the package arrived, it was an empty envelope. The reporting party made a claim with Ebay, which required a local sheriff’s office report before refunding the account.

65th Street Court East

April 4
4:45 p.m. — 4800 block of 65th Street Court East
Lost Property: A man usually keeps his gun in his truck but believes he took it out and brought it into his house. He has not seen the gun in more than two weeks and has been looking all over for it.

County Road 675 and North Rye Road

April 5
5:16 p.m. — County Road 675 and North Rye Road
Information: A man was standing outside and saw a neon green and blue ultralight flying north. He said the plane banked and appeared to lose power, do a nosedive and disappear, but he did not hear a crash or see smoke. Sheriff’s deputies and the aviation unit checked the area but did not find a plane. Dispatch also contacted airport officials, who had not seen planes matching the description take off or land. Police concluded there was no evidence that a plane had crashed.

Seventh Avenue East

April 7
2:15 p.m. — 14800 block of Seventh Avenue East
Animal Bite: A foster dog bit three individuals at the home in which it was residing. All three individuals were taken to a hospital for treatment.

53rd Avenue East

April 7
5:04 p.m. — 3600 block of 53rd Avenue East
Baker Act: A woman called police after her father made death threats. When police arrived, the man was attempting to drive his motorcycle into oncoming traffic. Deputies detained him and took him into custody under the Baker Act.

26th Avenue East

April 7
6:58 p.m. — 4500 block of 26th Avenue East
Theft: A woman reported that someone, possibly her boyfriend, stole her $800 rosary.

77th Place East

April  7
8:50 p.m. — 3900 block of 77th Place East
Baker Act: A man told police he had urinated on himself earlier but refused to shower and that he was holding in his urine but could not explain why. The relative who called police said the man has a mental illness and had displayed unusual behavior lately. Police took him into custody under the Baker Act.

Adventure Place

April 8
1:49 a.m. — 13000 block of Adventure Place
Found/Property: Police found two bicycles in a parking lot and transported them to the bicycle barn.

Lakewood Ranch Boulevard

April 8
8:48 p.m. — 8300 block of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard
Battery: A man reported that a group of 10 men approached him while he was fishing and asked him his name. When he told them, one of the men said he didn’t like that name and punched him in the face. The man said the assailant was Mexican, then later said he was white. Police could smell alcohol on the man, but he said, “Not really” when police asked if he had been drinking. Police reported that the man’s story was inconsistent, and he could not provide information to assist with the investigation.

67th Street Circle East

April 9
11:27 a.m. — 600 block of 67th Street Circle East
Burglary: Unknown person(s) entered a vehicle parked at a motel and rummaged through luggage. The suspect(s) took a skateboard, wallet, men’s shaving cream and other items.

Glenbrooke Court

April 10
10 p.m. — 8100 block of Glenbrooke Court
Battery: A couple got into an argument that turned physical when the husband grabbed the wife by her wrist to prevent her from getting out of the vehicle and going into the house. The man was arrested and transported to jail.

County Road 675

April 13
11:38 p.m. — 4900 block of County Road 75
Petit Theft: A man found two pawn receipts in his daughter’s car showing that three paint guns and a sawzall had been pawned. He owns these items, so he checked on them and found they were missing. The person who pawned the three paint guns a month earlier was her daughter’s boyfriend.

Camden Harbour Drive

April 14
5:55 p.m. — 7500 block of Camden Harbour Drive
Burglary: An unknown person entered a home and removed a small safe containing personal papers, passports, money and jewelry. The total value of items taken is valued at $20,000 to $25,000.

77th Place East

April 14
6:24 p.m. — 3900 block of 77th Place East
Battery: A woman and her son got into an argument under uncompleted chores. During the argument, the son battered his mother. The son was arrested and transported to a juvenile facility. The woman was not injured.

Cooper Creek Boulevard

April 15
12:57 p.m. — 8200 block of Cooper Creek Boulevard
Criminal Mischief: An unknown person pushed a shopping cart into a store door, causing the glass to shatter. Damages were estimated at $500.
