Kiwanis Club of Longboat Key member Robert Kromer, 87, was presented with the Walter Zeller Fellowship award for his service to the community at the club’s April 16 weekly breakfast meeting.

The Zeller award, which comes with a lapel pin and medallion, is one of Kiwanis’ top two awards.

Kromer was eligible for the award by donating at least $1,250 to the Kiwanis International Foundation Eliminate project, which vaccinates mothers and their babies against maternal and neonatal tetanus.

“Dr. Kromer is a very generous Kiwanian that has made multiple donations to the international foundation and our foundation that are above and beyond the recommended contributions,” said Kiwanis Club of Longboat Key Secretary John Wild.
