MONDAY, APRIL 27

+ Pies and Pints — takes place from 8 to 10 p.m. at Shamrock Pub. $20.

Enjoy this new pizza and beer series from Polpo Pizza Co. and Shamrock Pub, in which local chefs collaborate with Polpo to create signature pizzas, which will be paired with bottomless pints of craft beer.

Tonight's guest restaurant is Pomona Grill and Wine Bar. Admission includes three different pizza servings and bottomless pints until 10 p.m.


TUESDAY, APRIL 28

Open-Mic Night — takes place at 9 p.m. at Growler's Pub. Free.

You never know who you'll see at this regular open-mic night, hosted by Lesa Silvermore.

Bring your instrument, sign up for a slot and show off your chops. You might even get the chance to collaborate with other local musicians.


WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29

Jumpin' For Josh — takes place at 5 p.m. at Jumpin Fun Sports, 7321 Trade Court. 

This fundraiser event will benefit Josh Hill, a local parkour instructor and fitness enthusiast who was recently injured in a motorcycle accident.

Injuries sustained in the crash, including many broken bones and an injury that threatens the loss of his left foot, have racked up a large medical bill, and the fundraiser will help Hill pay those and other future bills.


THURSDAY, APRIL 30

+ Mike McCarthy—  takes place at 7 p.m. at McCurdy's Comedy Theatre. $15 to $18.

Mike McCarthy has been featured on The Showtime network and Comedy Central and is known throughout the industry as the Comedy Barbarian.

His high-energy style of humor and unrelenting delivery will have audiences laughing until they cry.


FRIDAY, MAY 1

Buffalo Wizards, John Denver's Ghost and Lady and Gentleman — takes place at 9 p.m. at Growler's Pub. Free.

Say farewell to Buffalo Wizards before  three of its members move away.

Joining the bill is acoustic Southern rock duo John Denver's Ghost and local two-piece Lady and Gentleman.


SATURDAY, MAY 2

Viva Sarasota —  takes place from noon to 10 p.m. on Main Street. Free.

Celebrate Latino culture with music, authentic cuisine, arts and crafts and other festivities at this all-day family friendly international Latino festival.

This annual event represents more than 50 different countries and is sure to get you in a festive spirit.


SUNDAY, MAY 3

+ Reggae Sunday — takes place at 10 p.m. at Beach Club. Free.

Relax and wind down your week with the soothing reggae sounds of Democracy at Beach Club.

This regular event will keep the good vibes flowing through the rest of your work week.
