OBITUARY | George Rosskam

George Rosskam, 92, of Sarasota and formerly of Longboat Key, died July 24.

Born Aug. 30, 1922, Mr. Rosskam grew up in Elkins Park, Pa. on the same street as Loris, his wife of 70 years.

He was a World War II veteran who served in the European Theater of Operations. He was an owner and vice president of his family’s food ingredient business, David Michael & Co. He retired to Longboat Key in 1983 and later moved to Sarasota.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Loris Rosskam. He is survived by his children, Gail Henry, Nancy Kanter and George Rosskam; six grandchildren; and sister, Florence Illch.
