In the hierarchy of knowledge retention, information about the Bee Gees' discography or the type of car Mad Max drives, while super cool, is generally considered pretty useless.
However, there is one place this kind of minutiae can actually earn you respect — even prizes.
I'm talking about trivia night. And thanks to World of Beer Main Street, information junkies now have another option when it comes to showing off their encyclopedic knowledge.
Tomorrow night, from 8 p.m. to 10:30, World of Beer Main Street kicks off its new weekly trivia night. Regulars at the beer bar's University Parkway location will recognize the event, but General Manager Rena Cohen says new host James Hope brings both a loyal following and an exciting variety of questions.
"We knew it went over well at the University location, so it was a no-brainer to introduce it here," she says. "James has done regular trivia nights at other bars around town, and I know he makes things fun."
The event features four rounds of questions and $10, $20 and $30 gift cards for the top three teams. The inaugural event coincides with the bar's Lagunitas beer spotlight, so players can expect beer and Lagunitas-related questions, as well as swag from the brewery and World of Beer.
