OBITUARY | Gary Ozaroff

Gary Roger Ozaroff, 81, of Longboat Key, died Aug. 21.

Born Nov. 4, 1933 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Alice and Ben Ozaroff, Mr. Ozaroff spent much of his youth in Connecticut and was a graduate of the Choate and Cornell University. He spent his career as an executive at several large retailers, including Macy’s and Dayton Hudson, and was an executive vice president of the QVC Network. He retired and moved to the area in 1996.

Mr. Ozaroff is remembered a brave, irreverently funny and caring man of enormous energy and a love of action. 

Mr. Ozaroff is survived by his wife, Melinda Ozaroff; sister, Sharon Scull; children, Shelley Wolland, Leslie Killingsworth and Steve Ozaroff; stepchildren Robert Ackerman and Lison Cole; 13 grandchildren; and his cat, Jasmine.
