The Booker High School Key Club found a way to make its entry in the Community Youth Development Gingerbread Festival all its own.

Each team that submitted entries to the festival was given the same kit with four walls, two roof pieces, a snowman, a gingerbread man and a tree.

The theme for this house was for each members  to demonstrate their individual creativity. Using acrylic paint as their medium the team of six members painted the pieces with different patterns.

Once the pieces were painted the team assembled the house and embellished with candy. The finishing touches included a peppermint walkway, Starbursts shingles and a matching gingerbread tree.

The house was on display during the Gingerbread Festival from Dec. 11 to 13 at the Westfield Sarasota Square Mall.
