Longboat Key resident Holly Hennessy lost her treasured diamond bracelet Dec. 11 and spent the following weekend retracing her steps to find it.

“I was literally sick over it,” Hennessy said. “I spent hours retracing every step I had taken to no avail.”

After her third time looking at Publix, she decided to call the Longboat Key Police.

Kim Feagle, who took Hennessy’s call, was the also the dispatcher on duty when a woman called saying she found a bracelet at St. Armands Circle and wanted it returned to its owner. Because the lost bracelet was found in Sarasota, the woman was told to call the Sarasota police.

Hennessy called the Sarasota Police Department with no success, and Feagle and her supervisor, Tina Adams, then helped trace the original call.

The woman, Virginia Hepburn, had Hennessy’s bracelet, and the two met for lunch on Dec. 18.

“It’s nice to know, especially at this Christmas season, that there really are angels out there,” Hennessy said.
