3 — Points The Out-of-Door Academy girls basketball team edged past Fort Myers Canterbury School by during its 47-44 victory Dec. 11. 

4 — Croquet wins Sarasota’s Peter and Judy Carlin posted Dec. 12 to win the doubles gold medal in 70-74 age group of the Florida Senior Games. The couple also both one singles gold medals in their respective age divisions. 

26 — Boys basketball teams, including Riverview High, that competed in the 43rd Annual Culligan City of Palms Classic Dec. 18 through Dec. 23, at Bishop Verot High. 

2 — Area teams, including Riverview and Sarasota, that participated in the eight-team Riverview Lady Ram Jam Holiday Basketball Tournament Dec. 21 through Dec. 23. 

5 — The Sarasota High girls basketball team’s Class 7A ranking in the most recent Florida Association of Basketball Coaches/Source Hoops state rankings, which were released Dec. 14.
