Food havens like Brooklyn, Austin, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Chicago and Miami are all there on the Food Network's online restaurant guide. Sarasota and 13 of its restaurant are now on that vetted list for food experts and traveling foodies alike.

Highlighted along with a recent article, Food Network describes Sarasota as a cross between, "...the cosmopolitan edge of big city living with the small town vibes of a tiny beach town." This healthy balance between metropolitan attitude and small town craft and ingredients has created a food and restaurant community rapidly expanding into the national scene.

The article and guide highlight new and old institutions that have become local favorites including Indigenous, Shore Diner, State Street Eating House & Cocktails, Owen's Fish Camp, Columbia Restaurant, Sun Garden Cafe, Daiquiri Deck Raw Bar, Selva Grill, Nancy's Bar-B-Que, Mediterraneo, SunniBunni Frozen Yogurt & Smoothies and the New Pass Grill and Bait Shop.

Once a hometown treat, the food culture of Sarasota will fast become a nationally known entity.
