Cookie cruncher

Girl Scouts in Manatee County are in crunch time — cookie crunch time, to be exact. The Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida have begun to accept pre-orders for their famous Girl Scout cookies, and can even do so online through a new digital platform at girlscoutcookies.org. (You download the Cookie Finder App).

Door-to-door cookie sales and cookie booths will start Feb. 14.

This year’s cookie options include eight varieties: Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, Trefoils, Savannah Smiles and two new cookies — Rah-Rah Raisins, an oatmeal cookie with raisin and yogurt chunks, and Toffee-tastic, a gluten-free cookie with toffee bites.

Cookies cost $4 per box, or $5 per box for the Toffee-tastic.
