Rescue: Police assisted firefighter/paramedics with a rescue after a woman tripped and fell in a thrift store. The woman was transported to a hospital for further evaluation.

Ongoing issues
4:09 a.m. — 400 block of GMD.Civil Disturbance: A man said he has had difficulties with his landlord since he signed a lease in November. He told police his landlord does not live on the premise but keeps a vehicle parked in the unit’s spot and has called him multiple times. The two have also bickered over the cable bill. He believes she shut off the cable even though he gave her a check for the service, which she cashed. Police suggested he speak to the condo association about the parking issue and consider blocking the woman’s calls or obtaining a no-contact order.
Hot dog?
11:07 a.m. — 5300 block of GMD.
Dog Rescue: A dog was left in the front seat of a van in a shopping center parking lot. The owner said he stepped into a shop for five minutes and did not believe it was too hot to leave his dog in the vehicle. The dog did not appear to be overheated, but police told the man he should leave a window open.
Getting carted
1:04 p.m. — 500 block of Cutter Lane.
Larceny: A man left his garden cart near the side of his house and later discovered it was missing.
Shedding some light
2:05 p.m. — 5400 block of GMD.
Civil Disturbance: A woman met with her tenant to retrieve personal items from her rental property and noticed that her crystal lamp had been replaced by a bedroom lamp. The tenant said he did not know anything about the lamp. She also said the tenant, who is paid up through March, has purchased extra movies and charged them to her cable account. She said she does not understand why he is being so difficult. Police told her to stay away and report any further incidents.

6:49 a.m. — 7100 block of La Lenaire Drive.
Code Enforcement: The crew of a barge moored near the south end of Jewfish Key told police they were unable to continue traveling after leaving Bradenton Beach.

9:32 a.m. — Off the Key.
Boat Violation: Police called out to individuals on board a vessel and activated their electronic air horn in an attempt to talk to them about several violations, including lack of registration, improper anchorage and improperly displayed registration numbers. Officers did not get a response but observed movement from below the deck.
Celebrate good times …until 10 p.m.
8:47 p.m. — 2600 block of Harbourside Drive.
Noise: Police responded to a report of loud music and discovered it was coming from a small wedding party. While police spoke to wedding party staff and the DJ, the caller came over and agreed the music could continue as long as it was lowered by 10 p.m.

Rescue me
11:01 a.m. — Off the Key.
Boat Fire: A boat became engulfed in fire and smoke, but the family on board had safely boarded a Good Samaritan vessel by the time the Coast Guard arrived. The owner brought the boat to Florida for a vacation and noticed smoke in the port engine component while traveling and shut down both of the boat’s engines before boarding the other vessel.

Get lost
5 a.m. — Intersection of Gulf of Mexico Drive and Exeter Drive.
Public Service: A woman’s friends left her stranded on Longboat Key after they got into an argument. She began to walk and got lost, so she called police for help. The woman said she was staying at an unknown address on Bradenton Beach. Police gave her a ride to the area, and she immediately recognized the house in which she is staying.
Family feud
5:01 p.m. — 3000 block of
Grand Bay Boulevard.
Harassing Phone Call: A woman’s sister has been sending her threatening text messages because of an ongoing family dispute. The woman, who is on disability, said her sister has been threatening to call the Social Security office and claim that she is fraudulently collecting benefits.

5:59 p.m. — 6500 block of Bayou Hammock Road.
Larceny: A woman discovered her iPad was missing and told police she last saw the device on the passenger seat of her unlocked vehicle in her driveway. She later received a call from a woman who said her father found the iPad on the road. Police called the man, who said he would arrange for his daughter to return the iPad but said he did not want to provide additional information and hung up the phone. Police determined that further investigation is needed.
