Obituary: Eric Hugh Sundquist

Eric Hugh Sundquist, 73, of Longboat Key, died Jan. 26.

Born July 18, 1941, Mr. Sundquist grew up in Norwalk, Conn., attended local schools and graduated with degrees from Northeastern University and City College of New York. He spent his career in the construction materials industry with Martin Marietta and Lefarge.

Mr. Sundquist was an avid golfer, car enthusiast, watch collector and student of human nature.

Mr. Sundquist is survived by his wife of 50 years, Genie McMahon; daughters Lisa, Genie and Kristin; sister, Ann Marie Grywalski, of Bonita Springs; and six grandchildren, who knew him as “Pops.”

A memorial service will be held April 6, at St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive.

In lieu of flowers, donations to benefit the children of migrant workers may be sent to St. Mary. In the memo line, please indicate “Migrant Worker Fund.”
