UPDATE: Mardi Gras St. Armands Style cancelled

Update: Due to inclement weather to take place tonight, Mardi Gras St. Armands Style has been cancelled.

Who says Mardi Gras is just for New Orleans? Celebrate Fat Tuesday on St. Armands today from 6 to 9 p.m.

The event begins with a “strut” around the Circle, which is led by the Dixieland Band, Joe Bruno’s New Orleans Hot Dogs, the Mardi Gras king, St. Armands celebrities and Sarasota High School theater and drama students.

Attendees can join in the “strut” by meeting in the parking lot of St. Armands Lutheran Church at 5:45 p.m.

There will be entertainment around the Circle, including face painters, tarot card and palm readers, jugglers, tumblers and musicians.

All guests will receive free beads. Circle restaurants will also be offering Mardi Gras food and specials.
