For Los Demolirs, the formula is a simple one: Keep the songs punchy and the audience dancing.

But don't mistake brevity for a lack of substance. The Sarasota-based four-piece cranks out fuzz-soaked, reverb-laden garage rock reminiscent of the Arctic Monkeys on a surf trip, and their high-energy stage presence is attention-grabbing from the start.

"I'm a big fan of Detroit garage scene from the 2000s," says singer/guitarist Arroll Krumpleman. "There's a lot of fuzz and simplicity. It's more about emotion than technical ability. We try to keep it short but high-energy and keep the crowd moving."

LOS UNO

The band recently recorded its debut four-song EP, EP.1, which they release this Saturday at Shamrock Pub with fellow local rockers Hail Dale.

"We're always our own harshest critics," says Krumpleman. "But we're proud of this. It's hard to get a live recording that sounds like the band, but this sounds just like we do live. We just want people to dance and have fun. There's nothing too deep to take away — let's just have fun and dance together."
