Cornell home, 3441 Bayou Sound

Tom and Katie Cornell moved into the pink splendor that is their new Bayou Sound home last year, after directing construction of the British West Indies-style residence.

Elegant white marble steps contrast with the home’s pink exterior, which can be seen both from the front on the street and from behind from Buttonwood Harbor.

After guests enter through the arched wooden front doors, they find the focal point of the home to be an expansive, white staircase that leads to the second floor.

The home features many horse and fox decorations that reflect the couple’s time in their Maryland home, where they enjoyed horseback riding and fox hunting.

“I’m most proud of the details in the house,” Katie Cornell said. “I also love all the wood work finishes. The finish carpenters were amazing.”

Katie Cornell’s hobby of floral arranging makes the home burst with color.

“My home in Maryland was on a home and garden tour,” Katie Cornell said. “I’m involved with gardening, so doing a tour like this kind of goes with the territory.”
