Criminal Mischief: An officer walked the perimeter of a house in question and discovered pry marks on two doors leading to the master bedroom and living room. After a keyholder responded to the scene, a K-9 unit cleared the house. No burglary had been committed.

10:09 a.m. — 500 block of 66th Street Court East
Possession of Marijuana:
An officer responded to a report that two people were sleeping in a vehicle. The officer saw paraphernalia on the passenger’s lap, and as the door opened, he saw a handgun positioned between the door and the driver seat. The officer secured the gun, arrested both passengers for paraphernalia and drugs and transported them to Manatee County Central Jail.
66th STREET COURT EAST
Feb. 16
8:30 p.m. — 500 block of 66th Street Court East
Possession of Marijuana (no charge): While on foot patrol, an officer smelled marijuana and discovered a woman on the north side of a hotel smoking. When she saw the officer, she threw the marijuana cigarette into the grass and walked away from the officer. When the officer asked what she was doing she said she was just “catching some air.” She later admitted to smoking the cigarette and showed the officer where she threw it. The officer decided not to charge the woman with possession of marijuana.

of 39th Street East
Neglect: Individuals responded to the address to check on the welfare of a listed victim because a source reported someone was taking advantage of the victim. The victim in question said the suspects do care for him by helping with cooking and cleaning and taking him to the doctor when he falls. An officer will follow up.

1:59 p.m. — 4400 block
of 26th Avenue East
Criminal Mischief: A man saw a woman bent over next to his fence, which divides the property line, with a stick in hand. She pulled the electric fence wire up and cut it with wire cutters. She later admitted to cutting the wire and said she cut it because it was on her property. Officers explained that the fence wasn’t on her property but didn’t arrest her due to her age and completed a warrant request to send to the state attorney’s office.
