Sarasota teams fall in Final Four
Cardinal Mooney students gathered Tuesday to send off the varsity boys basketball team before it headed to Lakeland to play in the Final Four game against the Sagemont Lions. The Cougars fell to the Lions 52-65.

Sarasota Christian’s boys team saw its second consecutive Final Four Tuesday in its game against Miami Christian. Sarasota Christian lost 70-95.

JUST THE STATS
30 - Ryan McMahon scored 30 points for the Cardinal Mooney boys basketball team Friday night in a double-overtime victory over Naples First Baptist Academy.

51 - In three victories this season, the Cardinal Mooney boys lacrosse team has racked up 51 goals compared to its opponents’ six.

3 - Booker’s baseball team has lost three games this season by a combined three runs. After a win to start the season, Booker has dropped four games in a row.

WEEKLY RECAP 
Softball
Riverview cruised to an 11-1 victory over St. Petersburg High Friday night.

Riverview pitcher Deanna Stevens pitched a complete game, striking out nine and giving up just one hit.
The Rams scored seven runs in the sixth inning.

Baseball
Cardinal Mooney had games Thursday and Friday and won both contests by a combined score of 27-5.
The Cougars defeated Sarasota Christian 13-4 Thursday and beat Imagine High School 14-1 Friday.
Tyler Mattes went 4-for-5 against Sarasota Christian, and Parker MacPhail recorded the win.

Booker High School lost in eight innings Thursday night, 3-2, to St. Stephen’s.
Booker has lost three games this season by just one run.

Girls lacrosse
Cardinal Mooney narrowly edged St. Stephen’s Thursday, 10-9.

Caroline Kenefick and Maggie Sorensen each scored three goals for the Cougars.

Leland McCullough recorded 10 saves for the 2-1 Cougars.
