FRIDAY, FEB. 27

riverwalk
Music in the Park takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Bradenton Riverwalk. Free.

Bring a chair or blanket to enjoy the latest installment of this monthly live music series, which continues tonight with a jazz theme. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, including beer from Darwin Brewing Company and snacks from Peacecorn Popcorn.

The Dram, Sabals and Kristopher Jamestakes place at 8 p.m. at Cock & Bull Pub.  

Bradenton-area Americana six-piece, The Dram, will headline this show, which takes place at Cock & Bull Pub.

The night will also feature Orlando-based indie-rock outfit, Sabals, and Sarasota singer/songwriter Kristopher James.

+ Lady and Gentleman and the Ancient Infinitetakes place at 9 p.m. at Growler's Pub. Free.

Enjoy craft beer on tap as well as two live bands at this free show at Growler's Pub.

Music by indie-folk duo, Lady and Gentleman and self-described psychedelic-acid-jazz act, the Ancient Infinite.


SATURDAY, FEB. 28

+ EcoFest takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Payne Park. Free. 

Celebrate Earth Day early with EcoFest, an event created to bring awareness to healthy living and a healthy planet.

Enjoy live music, workshops and other demonstrations throughout the day.

+ Coach Dan Memorial Skate Jam — takes place from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Payne Skate Park. Free.

Celebrate the life of Coach Dan Giguere, who was killed in a car accident in 2013, and help give back to the program he helped create, Sk8Skool. Event includes food, raffles and contests all day.

loftapalooza
+ Loftapaloozatakes place from 2 to 10 p.m. at the Coffee Loft. Free with canned food donation. 

Enjoy a day of cover music by local bands, celebrating their favorite acts, including Radiohead, Death Grips, Taylor Swift, Blink 182, The Mountain Goats and more.

Bring a can of food and support local musicians.

+ Rock the Street  takes place  from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Gator Club. Free. 

This concert promotes local original music while raising money for the Children’s Home Society of Florida.

Features, Francesca, The Cruz Brothers, The Infinite Eights, MeteorEYES, Double Thumz Up, Phil Coale Band, SLOWSHORE, Stones of Madness and RaeF.

+ Sarasota Rolling Renegades Home Opener takes place at 6:30 at Stardust Skate Center. $12 at the door. 

Join the Sarasota Rolling Renegades Roller Derby team in their first home bout of the 2015 season.

Bring a chair, relax with a beer and cheer on the local team as they take on the Thunder City Derby Sirens from Deland.

+ John Denver's Ghost, Buffalo Wizards and Hecklemint — takes place at 9 p.m. at Growler's Pub. Free. 

Catch three great live bands, including John Denver's Ghost, an acoustic southern rock duo made up of Chris Flannagan and Garrett Von Räd from Hail Dale, Buffalo Wizards and Hecklemint, a band composed of two of the three members of the Blue Eyed Bettys.
