Obituary: Aaron Brenner

Aaron Brenner, 82, of Longboat Key and Harrisburg, Pa., died Dec. 24.

Born Jan. 25, 1932, Mr. Brenner grew up in Harrisburg and attended William Penn High School. He studied at the University of Alabama and later served in the Third Infantry Regiment during the Korean War.

Mr. Brenner joined M. Brenner & Sons in 1954, working in sales, and retired in 1993, when the company was sold. He was serving as the president and treasurer of the company at the time. He was also a vice president of Brenner Motors. He served on the advisory boards of Hamilton Bank, Core States and First Union banks and was a former treasurer of the United Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg. He served on the board of the Jewish Home of Harrisburg and was an active volunteer in the Jewish Family Service Meals on Wheels program. He was a life member of Beth El Temple in Harrisburg and served on its board of directors. He was also a member of Temple Beth Israel.

Mr. Brenner was preceded in death by his son, William Brenner. He is survived by his wife, Janis; daughters Terry Rapagnani, of the Woodlands, Texas, and Marcy Brenner, of Harrisburg; son, Roy Brenner, of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
