Obituary: H. Paul Carter

H. Paul Carter, 70, of Longboat Key and Hillsdale, Mich., died Dec. 23.

Born Oct. 27, 1944, in New York City, Mr. Carter graduated from Lewiston-Porter Central in Niagara County, N.Y., in 1962 and Hillsdale College in 1966. He was a teacher for the North Adams Public School from 1966 to 1996.

On Jan. 20, 1967, Mr. Carter married Maryann Zilonis, of Grand Rapids, Mich. They were married for 47 years.

Mr. Carter was a member of the Hillsdale Moose Lodge 921 and a life member of Hillsdale Elks Lodge 1575. He was also a former board member of the Hillsdale Community Theater, where he was the 1988 recipient of the Clint Johnson Memorial Award.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Maryann; son, Geoffrey Carter, of Midland, Mich.; and three granddaughters.
