After months of searching for a replacement for outgoing leader Executive Director Olivia Thomas, the Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center announces that Jessica Hays will be filling the role as the new president and CEO. In November Thomas addressed the Board of Directors that after eight years as the executive director she would be stepping down to relocate to Dallas.
Hays brings experience in marketing, program direction and leadership, having previously served as the director of community awareness since 2007. She is also a graduate of Leadership Sarasota and served as the former president for the Junior League of Sarasota.
“On behalf of the SPARCC Board of Directors, it is with great pleasure that I announce Jessica Hays as our new president and CEO," said Luisa Goldman, SPARCC board chair, in a release. “Jessica brings seven years of hands-on experience with our agency and brings a depth of knowledge about our programs and services. In addition to her proven leadership skills, Jessica brings a real passion and understanding of our victims’ needs. As the liaison for our 350-plus volunteers, she has harnessed the energy and assets of our community to benefit SPARCC.”
Hays is originally from Tallahassee and has lived in Sarasota for 12 years. She is married and has two daughters.
