L’Ambiance New Year’s Day Brunch. L’Ambiance residents gathered to celebrate New Year’s Day Jan. 1, with a brunch that featured homemade spreads of entrees and desserts. L’Ambiance social committee chairwoman Sylvia Pastor organized the planning, décor and much of the cooking with help from Terri Blumberg, Cheryl Clark, Joyce Cooper, Mary Ann Fair, Doris Kaplan, Irwin Pastor and Sheila Zinder.

Beth Israel Women Hanukkah Dinner. Beth Israel Women hosted its third Hanukkah dinner on the eighth and final night of Hanukkah Dec. 23, at Temple Beth Israel. Sylvia Pastor and Nancy Cohen organized the home-cooked dinner with assistance from other Beth Israel Women members and house manager David Aura.
