Jan. 6
Grab some drinks

12:33 a.m. — 6300 block of State Road 64 East. Shoplifting. A cashier told police a man entered a convenience store and left with a case of Bud Light valued at $19.99. He was last seen running southbound down State Road 64 with the case of beer over his head.

Manager meltdown
7:12 a.m. — 7300 block of Tara Preserve Lane. Burglary. Someone broke into a country club overnight. The new general manager told police he believes the former general manager, who was fired for poor performance, could be a suspect. There were no signs of forced entry, and $1,000 was missing from the safe and a cash register.

Jan. 7
Ex files

1:58 p.m. — 5400 block of Lena Road. Theft. A man reported that one of his employees stole a work computer and downloaded and removed company files to a flash drive without corporate permission. He said she then deleted the files in an attempt to cover up what she did before returning the computer. She used the man’s email address to send out confidential information to other employees before she quit.

Passed out
11:01 p.m. — Intersection of Honore Avenue and University Parkway. Driving Under the Influence. Patrol deputies received a report of a car stopped in an intersection. Police found a man passed out from drinking in his vehicle. He was pulled out of the vehicle and arrested. His vehicle was towed from the intersection.

Jan. 8
Smash and dash

7:42 a.m. — 5300 block of 31st Circle East. Burglary. Someone broke into a man’s car overnight by smashing the front passenger window. Nothing was missing from the vehicle.

Cell phone dis-app-ears
10:38 a.m. — 9500 block of State Road 64 East. Lost Property. A middle school student lost a cell phone during class. Attempts to locate the phone by calling it didn’t work. Finding it through a tracking app also proved to be unsuccessful.

Jan. 10
Text trouble

11:48 a.m. — 4500 block of Fourth Avenue East. Suspicious Circumstance. A man told police he received a text message on his phone with a picture of his wife engaging in a sexual act with another man. He told police he believes the picture was altered. The wife believes the photo was sent from her ex, who continues to bother them. Police advised the couple to get a restraining order against the man.

One scary nap
2:56 p.m. — 2300 block of 51st Boulevard East. Suspicious Circumstance. A woman told police she was “hanging out” with her boyfriend on her bed when he fell asleep. She said he began to turn blue and she called 911 and administered CPR. The boyfriend was revived and told police no drugs were involved with the incident. He told police he just had to sleep because he was tired from partying too much the night before.

8:50 p.m. — 6700 block of Medinah Court. Domestic Disturbance. A woman told police she got into an argument with her boyfriend and left the house. He wouldn’t let her back inside. The woman told police the fight didn’t turn physical and police left after the man failed to open the door.

Runaway report averted
5:25 p.m. — 1100 block of 133rd Street East. Information Only. A man returned home and discovered his 13-year-old daughter had not returned home from school yet. The daughter called to report she forgot her cell phone and couldn’t call him earlier to tell him she went to a friend’s house.
