Email won't be a timely option for members of the public wishing to contact Manatee County employees this weekend.
The county's email system will be inactive tonight though Tuesday morning as the county's information technology teams transition more than 1,600 Manatee County Government accounts to Microsoft Outlook e-mail.
Government employees will not be able to send emails starting at 6 p.m. tonight through 8 a.m. Jan. 20. Emails sent over the weekend will be delivered and timestamped, but will not be received until the transition is completed.
Manatee County's help line, 748-4501, will remain active over the weekend.
Additionally, government offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 19 in observerance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.
