The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Pine View School art teacher with dealing in stolen property for allegedly pawning several school laptops worth more than $1,400 each.

Deputies arrested 36-year-old Adam Seider Tuesday, after detectives determined he had pawned three Hewlett-Packard Elite laptops six times for a total of $260. Seider told officers he returned to Buccaneer Pawn, which is located on North Washington Boulevard, and bought the computers back from the store to remain undetected.

The Sheriff’s Office also charged Seider with providing false information to a pawn broker, and he was booked into the Sarasota County Jail on a $15,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending, according to a news release.

Seider has been charged with a variety of traffic infractions since 2005, and had his drivers license suspended in November, according to records filed with the Sarasota Clerk of Court.
