Braden River High School’s Jasmine Stanton knew just what to do when this year’s Manatee County Fair’s diary costume contest came around.
Stanton and her heifer, Karim, entered as a zoo keeper and a zebra.
“It was a lot of fun and very amusing to watch so many different exhibitors and their animals dressed up in a variety of costumes,” Jasmine says. “From creative ones like a baker and an oven to show that there was ‘a bun in the oven’ to the Jolly Green Giant and his three peas in a pod, it was hard to pick out the best one, in my opinion. You could tell everyone put a lot of thought and creativity into their costumes.”
