Make-A-Wish grants Pine View student's dream trip

Jamie Myers thought it was a normal day at school, until classmates and family members greeted him for a surprise reveal on campus.

Hundreds of students waited patiently by the car pick-up at Pine View School Thursday morning. They held signs and balloons to welcome classmate Jamie Myers as he arrived around the corner for his surprise Make-A-Wish reveal. Meyers was caught off guard when he recognized his family members and was told that on Monday he will be making the trip to Manhattan to meet his favorite musician.

Following the surprise, Myers took the rest of the day off from classes with his family to enjoy a ride in a limo to lunch.

Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida Regional Director, Rebecca Blitz helped coordinate the surprise for Myers. She said that Jamie’s family approached Make-A-Wish a few months ago to let them know he has a life-threatening illness and the plan was put into motion to surprise him at school.
