The ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday for the Gulf Gate Public Library was a cause for celebration. To commemorate the occasion, students from Marilyn Cafaro’s second-grade class and Becky McKenzie’s first-grade class at Gulf Gate Elementary performed for the crowd. They sang a combination of “America the Beautiful” and “If I Could be an Eagle.” Dressed in wings, feathers and a mask with a beak, Deianeira McClain had the honor of dressing as the eagle for the performance to keep with the patriotic theme.
